Services Provided: Individual, Family, and Couples Therapy

I completed my Bachelor’s degree at the University of California, Sacramento in Psychology with a minor in Child Development. I spent the next year gaining experience with a mental health agency aiding clients in their home and community while working on my next degree. In 2014 I completed my Master’s degree at the University of Nevada, Reno and became licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist.

My career started in Medicaid agencies where I gained a deeper understanding of the struggles faced when mental health is experienced alongside socioeconomic constraints as well as the impact that generational trauma has on an individual and their system. My early clinical years were spent working mostly with children and the adults that impacted their lives. In 2015 Ryan and I started our own practice where we continued to work with Medicaid while also expanding to include other insurances. Our practice grew over the next eight years to include two locations. This growth afforded me the opportunity to engage in a new role of supervisor to other therapists while continuing to hone my own craft.

Since licensure, I have been trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to support the treatment of trauma in clients. I have seen first hand the positive impact it can have for those who experience symptoms of big trauma, a lifetime of small traumas, fears, phobias, the list goes on. Adding to my EMDR education, I have taken specific courses in providing EMDR through telehealth and EMDR for first responders.

I have been trained in Perinatal Mental Health, a topic near and dear to my heart. The struggles that individuals and families face during pregnancy, postpartum, and loss of any kind are unique and underrepresented. I am passionate about supporting this life phase and helping others know that they do not have to suffer through it.

My approach is warm, friendly, and client centered. I integrate multiple modalities and techniques, creating a unique experience based on each client’s need. I am a good fit for you if you are looking for a connective relationship while focusing on your therapeutic goals.
